Ohio University notified me today that they regret to inform me that I am not smart enough and that I don't posses enough Uncle Rico moves to be admitted to their school. Better luck next time! Maybe I will end up selling Tupperware after all.

First Secondary Submitted !

I submitted my first secondary application to AZCOM (Glendale, AZ).

I am not really happy with Interfolio, the company that processes my letters of recommendation. Apparently they do not deliver the letters electronically to all medical schools as I assumed they did and as they lead you to believe. I had to have Interfolio mail them regular mail and they won't arrive until next week. My secondary application was transmitted to AZCOM electronically.

Everyone should have the ability to send and receive all types of documents electronically these days. It makes no sense to have half of your application accepted electronically but require paper copies to complete it.

This sounds like a government operation.

Received My First Secondary Application

Midwestern University Arizona (Glendale, AZ) sent me an email today saying I meet their criteria for receiving a secondary application. They embedded a link in the email to fill out the secondary application electronically. The cost? $50 more dollars.

I am finally seeing some forward movement.

Progress Is My Middle Name

Ok, so I was tired of waiting for AACOMAS to "process" my application. I finally emailed them today, after office hours, and I get a response several hours later that said my application was verified November 12 (today).

All Quiet On The Western Front

Alright, here it is into the fifth week and the application is still "processing". I guess AACOMAS isn't being very generous, it looks like they are going to take every bit of the "three to six weeks" indicated on their website.

COME ON! It is getting to be the holiday season. Show me some CHEER!!!!!

There Is No Such Things As Fast

I did some research on www.studentdoctor.net to see how long other applicants were waiting for their applications to be verified. It appears that it is taking four weeks to have these verified and distributed to my requested schools.

What are they trying to verify? They were sent a hard copy of my college transcript and have already verified that. My MCAT score was submitted electroncially by AMCAS and has already been verified. The rest of my application was submitted electronically with nothing to really verify. What, they want to verify that my personal statement is still personal? HURRY UP!

Second Letter Of Recommendation Received

I received my second letter of recommendation two days ago. I currently have two more letters outstanding, both very important for my application. I keep checking every day to see if Interfolio has posted them, still nothing. I am wondering if the request sent from Interfolio, via email, to the letter writers got caught in a spam filter?

Dr. Lott received his and I am hoping that the other two have just been busy.

First Letter Of Recommendation Received

Dr. Lott's letter of recommendation posted to Interfolio today, it is the first one I have received back. I am hoping the other letters get posted soon as well.

Application Processing

AACOM said to expect 3-6 weeks to process a completed application. I think October 27th will have been two weeks, it is just a waiting game at this point anyway.

There are a couple of schools that have their secondary application posted online so I have started those already. Some of the questions they ask seem to be very similar to information already submitted in the main application. It seems a little silly to repeat it again. I suppose I will just have to spin it in a little different way.

Letter of Recommendation

My chemistry professor emailed me and indicated that he mailed his letter to the online service, Interfolio, who is managing my recommendation letters. It appears that the electronic submission is a little clumsy and he chose to mail a hard copy to Interfolio instead of uploading it. He said they should receive it any day now.

One of the physicians that is also writing a letter of recommendation called me this morning and said that the letter is finished and available for me to pick up.
